Hi there! I'm Kenzie Villalobos — a mother of two beautiful boys and the founder and creator of Wild Sprouts Nature School. I have over 15 years of experience working in the early childhood education field. I began as an infant teacher, spent time teaching every grade, and eventually served as the director of a preschool program.

I have been passionate about working with children since I was a child myself. I majored in Early Childhood Education and feel deeply honored to have cared for hundreds of families throughout my teaching journey — including many years with one of the largest childcare companies in the United States.

When I had my first child, I realized I wanted something different: an education where he could be his true self. After months of research, I discovered nature schools — and everything about them aligned with exactly what I was looking for. I've seen firsthand how instrumental the outdoors has been in shaping my own boys' childhoods, and I wanted to create that same environment for other families.

At Wild Sprouts, we maintain a very low ratio of 1:4 — and never more than 1:6. This means more time for genuine connection, safer supervision, and the space for each child to be seen. We still focus on academics, but in a more organic way — with less pressure and more joy.

Our Story

Something beautiful is just beginning.

Wild Sprouts is brand new — and we couldn't be more excited. What you're seeing here is the very beginning of something we've been dreaming about for a long time.

We are currently enrolling our founding families — the ones who will help shape the culture, the rhythms, and the spirit of this place from the very first day. There is something truly special about being first.

If Wild Sprouts speaks to you, we'd love to connect. Come grow with us from the ground up.

Our Mission

Wonder

We protect children's natural sense of awe. Every bug, every puddle, every gust of wind is an invitation to pay attention to the living world.

Belonging

Every child belongs here — exactly as they are. We build community through shared time outdoors, seasonal rhythms, and the quiet work of being together.

Roots

We believe in slow, deep learning. Children who are given time to truly know a place — its smells, its textures, its creatures — grow into people who care for the earth.

Teaching Philosophy

We follow the child, not the curriculum.

Our approach is rooted in the belief that children are natural scientists, artists, and storytellers. They do not need to be taught how to learn — they need space, time, and a trusted adult nearby.

We draw from Waldorf, Reggio Emilia, and forest school traditions, weaving them together into something that feels less like a method and more like a way of being with children. Unhurried. Attentive. Deeply respectful of the child's inner life.

Our teachers are guides — present, observant, and ready to follow wherever curiosity leads.

Come See a Morning

See how a morning unfolds.

The best way to know if Wild Sprouts is the right fit is to experience it firsthand. Come observe a morning session, watch the children at work in the world, and reach out if you have questions. We're always happy to talk.
